Serving Our Church

FPC Greeters & Ushers Needed

Contact: Church Office at (360) 734-5510 or
Friendly people are needed to help usher and greet every few weeks at Sunday morning worship services.

FPC A/V Help Needed

Contact: A/V Coordinator at
Making sure people can hear well and see content are two ways we do our best to communicate on a Sunday morning – come learn the ropes and share your time by volunteering with our A/V team! We have a rotating schedule for which you can volunteer for as little as a few times a year, or as often as every couple weeks! Email if you have further questions, or to sign up! No experience required – curiosity and dependability preferred.

FPC Facilities Volunteers

Contact: Church Office at (360) 734-5510 or
Would you, your family, or your small group be willing to “adopt a flower bed” at FPC? We are looking for people to help keep the landscape tidy, plant as needed (plants provided by the church), and weed. Many hands make light work! We are also looking for people who would be willing to loan out their pick-up truck for church-related tasks, and people who could shovel snow when needed early Sunday mornings this winter. If you could be on call for any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact us!

Café Pres Servers

Contact: Church Office at (360) 734-5510 or
We are always in need of more volunteers to serve Café Pres after our Sunday morning worship services. Training and food is provided – we just need to the servers to prepare, set it out, and clean up afterwards.

Donate Snacks to the Children’s Ministry

Contact: Kerrie Bauer at (360) 734-5510 x214
The nursery and toddler room are in need of snacks to help keep our hungry kids happy during worship services. We specifically need goldfish crackers, also used in the Godly Play “feast” for older children. We can also use donations of Dixie cups. If you are able to donate any of these items, please drop them off in the Children’s Ministry office (across the hall from the nursery).

Volunteer in Nursery or as a Sunday School Teacher

Contact: Kerrie Bauer at (360) 734-5510 x214
Our Children’s Department can always use more volunteers to help take care of and teach kids at both of our services on Sunday mornings. Sunday School teachers must be at least 18 years old; helpers can be middle school age or older. There are a variety of ways you can volunteer – contact Kerrie to see what the best fit will be for you.

Serving Our Community

FPC-Shuksan Partnership

Bellingham School District has asked FPC to partner with the Shuksan Middle School community. We are thrilled to have chances to bless the staff and student body in various ways. Click here to see what we have done with cookies, scissors, turkeys, and more – and how you can join in this lovely chance to serve and love this school!

Deacon Ministry Opportunities

As part of the Deacon ministry of bringing compassion, care, and prayer to our church family, we invite you to take part in various projects.

Prayer Shawls

Contact: Kerrie Bauer by email or at (360) 734-5510.
This exciting project blesses young and old alike. If you knit or crochet, we could use your help making prayer shawls for FPC members and others who are lonely, sick, or hurting, to let them know that they are loving, thought of and prayed for daily.

Handmade Baby Items

Contact: Kerrie Bauer by email or at (360) 734-5510.
With all the babies that have recently arrived, and with those on the way, we need more handmade baby items. These sweaters, booties, etc. are given to every new baby along with a children’s Bible.

Bake Cookies

Contact: Kerrie Bauer by email or at (360) 734-5510.
Our Deacons assist families with memorial service receptions when loved ones pass away by serving homemade cookies and coffee to the attendees. In order to be sure we will have enough cookies even at short notice, we keep a list of “cookie bakers” who are willing to make a dozen or so cookies when needed.

Drive Elderly Congregants to Sunday Morning Worship

Contact: Kerrie Bauer by email or at (360) 734-5510.
Would you be able to pick up one of our elderly congregants who are no longer able to drive and bring them to church on Sunday mornings? We are in need of people who we can connect with these church members so that they are still able to come to church on a regular basis.

Make a Meal

Contact: Kerrie Bauer by email or at (360) 734-5510.
We love to help families who are welcoming new babies by preparing a few meals for them as they transition back at home with their new little one. Contact us if you would like to be on a list for the Deacons to contact when meals are needed. NEW: Fix a meal, label it, prepare for the freezer, drop it off at FPC, and we’ll use it for emergency meal needs!
