I will make of you a great nation,
and I will bless you,
and make your name great,
so that you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and the one who curses you I will curse;
and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
- Gen 12:2-3
More on the 5 C’s, Habits of the Blessed Life
Consecration (Worship)
We value devoted, Christ-centered worship, praising God in thoughtful, dynamic and engaging styles.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
- Mark 12:30/Deuteronomy 6:4,5
Communication (Prayer)
We recognize the utmost importance of earnest prayer, corporate and individual, for one another and the world, to deepen our relationship with God.
“…pray without ceasing,”
- 1Thessalonians 5:17
Contemplation (Study)
We value the Bible and the Spirit as our trustworthy source of knowledge, understanding, and guidance in following Jesus. We encourage calm, lengthy, and intent consideration of God, scripture, self, and creation.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”
- Psalm 119:105
Community (Relationships)
We value truthful, safe and encouraging relationships. Within this haven we can be honest about our struggles, invite mutual accountability, and enjoy the fellowship of the journey.
“Do not neglect to meet together as is the habit of some, but encourage one another…”
- Hebrews 10:25
Compassion (Caring/Suffering)
We value intimate relationships with Jesus Christ as the only way to receive fulfilling, eternal life with God. God calls us to share this good news with a hungry world through loving acts of kindness and service. As St. Francis encourages, “Preach the gospel everyday, if necessary, use words.”
“You will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the outer ends of the earth.”
- Acts. 1:8
