Giving Your Treasure
At FPC we do not presume upon a certain percentage of giving as the concept of tithing is not advocated in the New Testament. What Jesus calls us to is generous giving.
Every year the Session (active Elders) and ministry leaders spend time prayerfully considering ministry plans for the upcoming program year (July - June). Trusting that God will provide for our needs, Session approves a faith budget based on these ministry plans.
There are a host of ways you can give to the mission of FPC...

Tax Rules Let You Turn IRA Distributions Into Tax-Free Donations
Did you know that donors at least age 70½ who take distributions from an IRA account and want to support FPC can make charitable gifts resulting in significant tax savings?
This recent and temporary tax law change permits donors to contribute up to $100,000 that is withdrawn from an IRA account and paid directly to a charity, with no federal income tax consequences. Under the old rules, you were required to pay income tax on your IRA distributions-even if you donated them to charity.
This option is particularly attractive for donors who do not itemize their deductions and hence cannot offset tax that would have previously been owed, or for whom increasing their overall income might have other negative tax impacts due to deduction limitations and phase-outs. Because the withdrawal amount is not included in taxable income, no charitable contribution deduction is allowed.
You can direct your IRA manager to make the transfer to FPC, or for a copy of an IRA Transfer Letter form please call Lynn Trzynka at 715-8038.
