Our desire is to keep you updated on Whole Life Stewardship at FPC

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We are blessed people. We have been blessed with God’s grace, the Holy Spirit, a beautiful land, a wonderful country, God’s Word, and with an abundance of physical and spiritual riches.

As we follow Jesus, we learn of generosity and sharing. We read of the abundant life that He calls us to, which includes an open-handed giving approach with all we have been given – time, talents and treasures.

Our concept of Stewardship affirms that all we have been blessed with is not truly ours; it is Gods. We get the wonderful privilege of taking care of, or stewarding, all that we have – His money, His stuff, and His time for His Glory and for the building up of His kingdom as it comes on earth.

As we live the life God has called us to live, we want to encourage everyone to prayerfully consider what stewardship looks like in your life. Truly, the invitation to living a life of giving is a life of great joy.

In His Giving,

Doug Bunnell, Pastor

At FPC you will often hear “Every Member a Minister.” Not everyone is called to preach on Sunday mornings or serve professionally in church, but everyone is called to give their time and talents to the Glory of God.

At FPC, our hope and prayer is for two things:

First, that everyone who considers FPC their church community would give their time and talents on Sunday mornings, 1x/month. The opportunities are endless…

  • Caring for babies
  • Greeting
  • Operating audio/visual equipment
  • Playing an instrument
  • Praying
  • Reading Scripture
  • Singing
  • Serving coffee/snacks
  • Setting up for communion
  • Setting up the sanctuary
  • Teaching children and youth
  • Ushering

Second, that everyone would discover ways that they can be a blessing to FPC, their neighbors, Bellingham, and the world through…

  • Administration
  • Children
  • Community Service
  • Cooking
  • Coordinating events
  • Decorating
  • Facilities
  • Finance
  • Hospitality
  • Landscaping
  • Mentoring
  • Missions
  • Outreach
  • Personnel
  • Photography
  • Praying
  • Serving on FPC committees
  • Teaching
  • the INN
  • Worship and Arts
  • Youth
and the list could go on…

FPC Financial Update

Each year at FPC, we bring our financial needs before God in the form of a faith budget. This budget is approved by Session.

For more information, contact the bookkeeper at (360) 734.5510 x212 or bookkeeper@fpcbellingham.org.

Giving Your Treasure

At FPC we do not presume upon a certain percentage of giving as the concept of tithing is not advocated in the New Testament. What Jesus calls us to is generous giving.

Every year the Session (active Elders) and ministry leaders spend time prayerfully considering ministry plans for the upcoming program year (July – June). Trusting that God will provide for our needs, Session approves a faith budget based on these ministry plans.

There are a host of ways you can give to the mission of FPC…

  • Weekly Giving With Cash or Checks
Use the small white envelopes in the pew racks.
  • Envelope Giving
    Contact church office for envelopes.
  • Stock Donations and Estate Giving
