Jean and her husband Kris moved to Bellingham in 1976. They both came to Christ through the ministry of FPC and raised a daughter and a son in the church. Jean holds a teaching certificate from WWU and taught as a Teacher’s Aide in the Special Needs program for several years. After she retired from the school district she worked as a caregiver for Visiting Angels, again with children and adults with special needs. Now she has retired and is a caregiver for Kris, who retired from a fruitful career as a Structural Engineer when Parkinson’s disease made it too difficult to work. In 2018 they will be celebrating 50 years of marriage.
As a member of FPC, Jean has taught the Bible to people of all ages . She sings in the Choir. She served 9 years as a Deacon and is serving her second term as an Elder, as her husband did before her.
Her current hobby is finishing or repairing old quilts, or making new wedding and baby quilts for the many young people in her life.
