The water we are swimming in…
- Christianity Rediscovered by Vincent Donovan
- Communal faith
- Jesus saw their faith
- The Dramas—sins forgiven
- Which is easier to say?
- We know people who can’t get to Jesus
- Do you have these kind of friends? Are you this kind of friend?
How do your friends help you see Jesus?
Read Mark 2:1-12. Pretend that you are an onlooker to this actual event. What do you see, hear, taste, feel, smell?
What do you think the four friends were hoping would happen? What did happen? How do you think they felt as they heard Jesus speak?
What is the importance of forgiveness? Of walking? What do we learn about Jesus in this encounter?
Our text says that Jesus saw their faith? What does this imply? What would this mean in our lives?
What do we do with Jesus’ question about which is easier to say? What is he saying? How does that question shed light upon Jesus?
How do the friends express their love for their paralyzed companion? What does this say about our relationships with others and their relationships with Jesus?
