Nearly 100 FPC’ers of all ages gathered at the church on Sunday, August 23. After prayer, coffee, and donuts we went out into the community to be the hands and feet of Jesus, showing love through service. Born of the steam damage to our sanctuary in 2013, this service Sunday day was a way to be a community of believers outside our church building when we couldn’t gather for worship in it. Because of its success that first year, our Session voted to do it again in 2014. This year our work crews helped at the YWCA across our alley, the Sean Humphrey House, Lydia House, and the Lighthouse Mission. One group cleaned a local trail, another picked up trash in the FPC neighborhood. Others served at the church, cleaning and organizing supplies for the office and children’s department. Service Sunday 2014 was another success, blessing the workers as well as the community! We trust these photos show you what it looks like to joyfully minister God’s love in tangible ways!
